SBS Systems are designed to prevent accidents and reduce liabilities by alerting drivers of a possible impending accident that could be disastrous. If a driver leaves the driver's seat without first setting the parking brake, SBS systems will sound a warning alert within two seconds. The warning alert will continue until the driver sets the parking brake or returns to the driver's seat. This SBS system can also be designed to set the parking brake rather than just alert the driver that the brake is not set. Additional SBS systems alert the driver if the wheelchair lift is accessed without first setting the parking brake or if a driver releases the brake without closing the access door. Still other systems set the parking brake automatically. If for example, the driver of a school bus opens the door with the student load lights activated and has not first set the parking brake the brake will set automatically.
SBS also designs and manufactures systems that will replace the parking brake button with electric, air, or keypad switches adding both ease and comfort to setting the parking brake as well as a high level of security and safety.

All SBS systems meet the requirements of NHSTB standard 121 and do not require brake re-certification. Parts are DOT approved and safety rated. All seat switches are manufactured using fire retardant foam and adhesives.
