As early as 1989, the owner operator of a trucking company made productive use of his “off hours” and with safety in mind created and designed various products to make his equipment safer. After seeing a rollaway accident, liability was an overwhelming thought. His priority became preventing injury and damage to equipment and property.
The Safety Brake Set concept became reality as Fleet Managers saw the benefit of alerting drivers if the parking brake was not set when they left the cab of the vehicle. Safety Brake Set, Inc. patented their first product in 1991.
