TRI-MET
Dear Frank:
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your time and efforts put
forward towards solving our Runaway/Rollaway bus problem here at Tri-County Metropolitan
Transportation District of Oregon.
The project began almost three years ago when the District was experiencing a large
number of Runaway/Rollaway buses. While conducting the research to eliminate the Rollaway
bus syndrome I found that a number of transit agencies across the country experienced the
same problems as Tri-Met. However, they did not have a permanent solution that was cost
effective and more importantly that was reliable.
The District has tested several seat switches and warning devices that were installed
in regular service buses. Operator survey's were conducted to determine effectiveness,
reliability, and comfort. The seat switch that was supplied by Safety Brake Systems ranked
the highest in all three categories.
The District has since modified the entire fleet of buses with the new parking brake
alarm system. In addition, all future bus purchases have the parking brake specification
included.
Thank you again for your assistance in solving a very serious problem that could of
resulted in a number of fatalities. The parking brake alarm system has eliminated all
Runaway/Rollaway bus accidents for the last two years.
Sincerely,
Mike Russell

Dear Mr. Williams:
Thank you for sending us a demonstration model of the Safety Brake Set device. We have
tried it and found it to be very satisfactory. I am anxious to install more, and I am
recommending the Safety Brake Set to my friends who have fleets.

Dear Frank:
I want to take time to say thanks to you and SBS for the assistance installing the SBS
systems and the auxiliary brake control on our vehicles. As you know our drivers use the
auxiliary brake control system probably hundreds of times a day and continue to comment
favorably. Since installing the parking brake alert system we have not had any problems
with driverless trucks rolling in our yard or pit. Either your system is working perfectly
or our drivers have become more aware of the need to set the parking brake each time they
get out of the vehicle; more likely both.
Aside from the safety benefits, we look forward to the savings of wear and tear, and
repair.
Thanks again for your on-site training and working with our mechanics for the quick and
smooth installations.
See you in 1999.
Sincerely,

ROCKY ROAD TRUCKING
Dear Sirs;
As you know, we have installed several Safety Brake Sets on our dump trucks and have
found them to be a welcome and reliable addition to our safety program. Although we
encourage our drivers to set the brakes any time they leave the vehicle, SBS has proved
itself many times.
Our intention is to have SBS installed on the remaining trucks by June 1, 1997. Please
have Rod contact us to make arrangements to complete the installations.
Sincerely,
Roger Brown

Dear Frank;
I want to thank you for your assistance installing SBS on our trucks. We have not
experienced any problems and find the units to be effective and reliable.
Our drivers and mechanics are very positive about SBS and feel it has "saved the
day" many times. We have not had any "over night rollaways" from the
parking shed since installing SBS.
