School Bus Systems

Safety Brake Set systems are designed to alert drivers if the parking brake is not set, under a variety of conditions:

1) If the door is opened with the student load lights activated.

2) If the driver leaves the driver's seat.

3) If the wheelchair access door is opened or open. This system alerts the driver if the brake is not set when the access door is opened and will also alert the driver if the door is not closed when the parking brake is released.

4) Any combination of the above conditions as well as seatbelt/seat combinations.

The SBS 801 Parking Brake Warning System consists of an occupant sensor, an alarm mounted on a control module which contains a parking brake sensor and a super bright red blinking LED. A 5/32 tube is spliced into the parking brake air line using a slip fit tee, to determine if the parking is set or released.

The occupant sensor, when adjusted to detect the presence of the driver, will sound the alarm and

blink the LED if the driver leaves the seat for more than one second.

The system is activated only when the parking brake is released and does not draw
any current when the brake is set.

This system is adaptable to any type of vehicle.
